The DY-500 Class is the first ship you receive at the start of the game. It is essential for colonising planets and in some ways is the most important ship in the game. Even ignoring its colonization functions the DY-500 is one of the most efficient deuterium tankers per slot in the game , along with being usable as a cargo and crew transport the ship is probably the most useful 1 slot civilian ship available. DY-500 class ships cannot be bought/sold on the Talaxian Ship Auctions. It is only possible to have one DY-500 at a time. | The DY-500 Class is the first ship you receive at the start of the game. The Antares Class is one of the 6 ship classes a settler can request from the Federation. It can be requested by any player above level 5 who has less than 25 ship slots in use, and does not already have two ships of this class. The Antares class collector is the first class of Ore collector available to a settler, and like all other ore collectors can mine ore from both small and large asteroid fields, although small asteroid fields get less Iridium Ore. Players normally use Capo or Andorra class ships or alternatively iridium mines rather than these ships as they have a rather high fuel expenditure, especially for players who fuel their fleets solely with deuterium. | The Antares Class is one of the 6 ship classes a settler can request from the Federation. + | The AntaresB is a class of short range transporter, every settler receives this class of ship automatically upon reaching level 6 and provided they have less than 25 slots of ships can request a new one from the Federation if it is destroyed. The ship is important for transporting goods. | ||
+ | |||
+ | While there are a range of alternative transporters available for credits which can also sometimes be purchased on the Talaxian Ship Auctions, the only buildable alternative is the Whorfin which is a long range transporter, it has much lower cargo room than the AntaresB, but greater flight range making it more useful for transporting goods long distances quickly. | ||

- | + | The Oberth is a reasonably fast ship particularly suitable to long distance travel. There is hardly a better vessel for exploring areas near and far. It can be quickly built, and requires only a moderate quantity of materials. Its bussard collectors allow it to collect 360 Deuterium each day effectively allowing it to refuel itself without support giving it a potentially unlimited range. | |

- | + | The Whorfin class is a type of long range transport vessel capable of hauling moderate amounts of resources over large distances. It is vastly inferior to the AntaresB in terms of cargo space, however high flight range, a slightly better reactor, a larger EPS capacity and a smaller base crew requirement give it some advantages over its short distance competitor. | |

+ | The Sydney class is the only buildable class of passenger ship. It can be extremely useful for colonists with low internal reputation to populate colonies which don't have sufficient attractiveness to self populate. The Sydney has radiation immunity which is useful to avoid accidentally killing all the passengers aboard flying into a radiation nebula. | ||
+ | |||
+ | The main alternative option to the Sydney is the Sunhawk class which is purchasable for 400 Credits and has space for an additional 35 passengers for 0.5 less ship slots. | ||

+ | The Tug Class is designed solely for the purposes of Construction and Debris Extraction. It is able to repair wrecks, extract debris and is also able to build a variety of structures, from Small Subspace Gates to Disruptor Platforms - and with the use of the correct items can be expanded to enable LRS Buoys and EMP Mines to be built - making the tug a very useful and unique ship. | ||
+ | |||
+ | However it suffers from low flight range, no defensive capabilities and a relatively low reactor (considering it needs large amounts of energy for extraction) - meaning that for extraction purposes an Extraction Ship or an Atria often works much better. | ||

+ | The Andorra Class Ship is a sublight ore collector with better Ore collector capacity than the original Antares design. | ||
+ | |||
+ | It was engineered in order to increase the amount of ore which can be collected, however it has the drawback of needing to be towed into position. | ||
+ | |||
+ | As a civilian ship the Andorra has very little in the way of weapons, with a single phaser of only 2 strength it would barely be able to stand up to any offensive force.
| ||

+ | The Kale class is a type of sublight Deuterium Tanker with a singular role and minimal defenses. Deuterium Tankers are very important to the very survival of your colonies and to powering your ships. Deuterium is one of three essential resources needed to charge warp engines.
| ||
+ | |||
+ | The Kale has slightly higher Bussard Collector capacity than the Indus but this comes at the cost of 0 Flight Range and lower beam capacity. Credit alternatives to the Kale are the Hatysa and Dheneb. | ||

+ | |||
+ | The Atria class is a buildable civilian flagship. At one point it was considered to be the least enticing flagship in STNE however the addition of a trading portal, along with some other alterations have made the atria into an extremely useful ship. Utilized to its full capacity the Atria can collect 9000 Deuterium and 1800 Iridium Ore each day and it also has wreck extraction capabilities. The ships large cargo capacity - enough to hold 3000 torpedoes and enough cargo to refuel a fleet in combat - along with its trading portal - to transfer more fuel and torpedoes in from storage colonies if needed - make it the perfect choice a wartime refueling post. | ||
+ | |||
+ | The atrias defensive capabilities are lacking when compared to the Elstar and the Iowa, however it is reasonably well armed for a civilian ship and alone could probably successfully defend itself from 5-10 slots of military ships. If it had its hangar capacity filled with 8 fighters then it could put up a bit more of a fight, however it is not a ship you would choose to take into combat. | ||

- | ==Patrol Ship= | + | The Extraction Ship (previously called a Repair Ship) is a small ship with wreck extraction ability. It is great to have after a battle. By docking a transport ship to the wreck extraction ship, one can gain a large amount of supplies quickly from a large debris field by transporting the supplies to the transport without any energy cost. The wreck extraction ship can concentrate on scavenging supplies rather than running supplies to another location. Keep this ship protected though, it is practically defenseless. Since extraction is an energy intensive process the extraction ship has high EPS capacity and a somewhat high reactor yield for a 2 slot ship. |
- | (Patrol | + | |
- | Crew: 20 (10) Hull: 30 | + | The extraction ship, like all ships equipped with a wreck extractor is able to repair wrecks, it has a relatively high chance of success, although lower than the Ortygia and Atria class ships it has more chance of successfully repairing a wreck than any ships with extraction items installed. |
- | Armor: 0 | + | |
- | Shields: 15 | + | The main alternative to the extraction ship is the Ortygia which costs 300 Credits and has a larger EPS, main energy capacity and reactor yield for 0.5 slots less. It is also possible to use an Atria for Wreck Extraction or any ships equipped with items such as a Plasma Cutter. |

+ | The Patrol Ship is the mobile counterpart of the Subspace Listening Post. Its state-of-the-art sensors allow it to pursue warp signatures left by travelling ships, if they are not older than five days. The Patrol Ship has a reasonably good flight range and LRS range, though some cut backs had to be made on its weaponry in order to fit this much high tech into such a small hull. | ||

Civilian Ships
DY-500 (Colonisation Ship)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1 Crew: 20 (5) | Hull: 100 Armor: 2 Shields: 30 | Cargo Bay: 1000 Beam Capacity: 20 10 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 60 Flight Cost: 0.6 | EPS: 200 Main Energy: 325 Reactor: 60 Core Capacity: 1200 Deflector: 400 Deflector/Tick: 14 | Phaser: 4|4 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10|10 | Solar panels Bussard Collectors (+1) 300 Bussard Collector Capacity LRS Range 3 |
Antares (Ore Collector)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1.5 Crew: 5 | Hull: 80 Armor: 1 Shields: 25 | Cargo Bay: 800 Beam Capacity: 20 10 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 40 Flight Cost: 0.9 | EPS: 112 Main Energy: 225 Reactor: 32 Core Capacity: 1800 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 6 | Phaser: 3|3 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10|10 | Ore collectors 33 Ore collector capacity LRS Range 2 |
Indus (Deuterium Tanker)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1.5 Crew: 5 | Hull: 60 Armor: 0 Shields: 10 | Cargo Bay: 800 Beam Capacity: 20 | Flight Range: 40 Flight Cost: 0.9 | EPS: 112 Main Energy: 225 Reactor: 32 Core Capacity: 1800 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 6 | None | Bussard Collectors (+1) 160 Bussard Collector Capacity LRS Range 2 |
The Indus is a class of Deuterium Tanker with a singular role, minimal defenses, and no offensive weapons. These ships are very important to the survival of your colonies and to powering your ships. Deuterium is one of three essential resources needed to charge warp engines. This ship can be requested from the Federation when beginning Space Trek: The New Empire.
This vessel will likely spend much of its life in dense Deuterium Nebulas. To ease this ship's supply needs, they are often docked at a space station.
With its effective bussard collectors (+1), your Indus-class ships can continue to serve its role well through subsequent Colonization Levels. There are a number of alternatives to this ship, however most - like the Thuban - cost credits to purchase. The Kale class is the only alternative buildable deuterium tanker, it has better bussard collector capacity but has no flight range.
AntaresB (Short Distance Transporter)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 2 Crew: 10 | Hull: 100 Armor: 1 Shields: 10 | Cargo Bay: 1500 Beam Capacity: 30 10 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 54 Flight Cost: 0.9 | EPS: 151 Main Energy: 302 Reactor: 43 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 100 Deflector/Tick: 8 | Phaser: 2x 3|3 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10|10 | LRS Range 2 |
The AntaresB is a class of short range transporter, every settler receives this class of ship automatically upon reaching level 6 and provided they have less than 25 slots of ships can request a new one from the Federation if it is destroyed. The ship is important for transporting goods.
While there are a range of alternative transporters available for credits which can also sometimes be purchased on the Talaxian Ship Auctions, the only buildable alternative is the Whorfin which is a long range transporter, it has much lower cargo room than the AntaresB, but greater flight range making it more useful for transporting goods long distances quickly.
Oberth (Exploration Ship)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1.5 Crew: 10 (5) | Hull: 30 Armor: 0 Shields: 20 | Cargo Bay: 300 Beam Capacity: 10 5 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 60 Flight Cost: 0.6 | EPS: 112 Main Energy: 225 Reactor: 39 Core Capacity: 1800 Deflector: 200 Deflector/Tick: 20 | Phaser: 1x 3|3 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10|10 Evasion: 25% | LRS Range 3 Solar Panels Bussard Collectors (+1) 60 Bussard Collector Capacity Radiation Immunity |
The Oberth is a reasonably fast ship particularly suitable to long distance travel. There is hardly a better vessel for exploring areas near and far. It can be quickly built, and requires only a moderate quantity of materials. Its bussard collectors allow it to collect 360 Deuterium each day effectively allowing it to refuel itself without support giving it a potentially unlimited range.
Whorfin (Long Distance Transporter)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 2 Crew: 10 (5) | Hull: 80 Armor: 1 Shields: 20 | Cargo Bay: 800 Beam Capacity: 30 20 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 80 Flight Cost: 1.2 | EPS: 203 Main Energy: 405 Reactor: 70 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 6 | Phaser: 1x 3|3 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10|10 | LRS Range 2 |
The Whorfin class is a type of long range transport vessel capable of hauling moderate amounts of resources over large distances. It is vastly inferior to the AntaresB in terms of cargo space, however high flight range, a slightly better reactor, a larger EPS capacity and a smaller base crew requirement give it some advantages over its short distance competitor.
Colonists from level 7 are able to request a single Whorfin class vessel from the Federation, additional whorfins can then be purchased on the Talaxian Ship Auctions or once researched they can be built in a shipyard
Sydney (Passenger ferry)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 2 Crew: 75 (10) | Hull: 120 Armor: 2 Shields: 20 | Cargo Bay: 120 Beam Capacity: 50 | Flight Range: 50 Flight Cost: 1.2 | EPS: 187 Main Energy: 375 Reactor: 54 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 200 Deflector/Tick: 16 | Evasion:10% | LRS Range 2 Radiation Immunity |
The Sydney class is the only buildable class of passenger ship. It can be extremely useful for colonists with low internal reputation to populate colonies which don't have sufficient attractiveness to self populate. The Sydney has radiation immunity which is useful to avoid accidentally killing all the passengers aboard flying into a radiation nebula.
The main alternative option to the Sydney is the Sunhawk class which is purchasable for 400 Credits and has space for an additional 35 passengers for 0.5 less ship slots.
Tug (Construction Ship)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1 Crew: 5 | Hull: 45 Armor: 0 Shields: 15 | Cargo Bay: 550 Beam Capacity: 20 | Flight Range: 30 Flight Cost: 0.9 | EPS: 83 Main Energy: 167 Reactor: 24 Core Capacity: 1200 Deflector: 160 Deflector/Tick: 6 | Evasion:5% | LRS Range 1 Wreck Extraction 4 Docking Ports Construction |
The Tug Class is designed solely for the purposes of Construction and Debris Extraction. It is able to repair wrecks, extract debris and is also able to build a variety of structures, from Small Subspace Gates to Disruptor Platforms - and with the use of the correct items can be expanded to enable LRS Buoys and EMP Mines to be built - making the tug a very useful and unique ship.
However it suffers from low flight range, no defensive capabilities and a relatively low reactor (considering it needs large amounts of energy for extraction) - meaning that for extraction purposes an Extraction Ship or an Atria often works much better.
Andorra (Sublight Ore Collector)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1.5 Crew: 5 | Hull: 80 Armor: 2 Shields: 15 | Cargo Bay: 1000 Beam Capacity: 10 | Flight Range: 0 Flight Cost: 1.5 | EPS: 140 Main Energy: 280 Reactor: 32 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 6 | Phaser: 2|2 -85% | Ore collectors 45 Ore collector capacity |
The Andorra Class Ship is a sublight ore collector with better Ore collector capacity than the original Antares design.
It was engineered in order to increase the amount of ore which can be collected, however it has the drawback of needing to be towed into position.
As a civilian ship the Andorra has very little in the way of weapons, with a single phaser of only 2 strength it would barely be able to stand up to any offensive force.
Kale (Sublight Deuterium Tanker)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 1.5 Crew: 5 | Hull: 50 Armor: 1 Shields: 10 | Cargo Bay: 1000 Beam Capacity: 10 | Flight Range: 0 Flight Cost: 1.5 | EPS: 140 Main Energy: 280 Reactor: 40 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 6 | Phaser: 2|2 -85% | Bussard Collectors (+1) 200 Bussard Collector Capacity |
The Kale class is a type of sublight Deuterium Tanker with a singular role and minimal defenses. Deuterium Tankers are very important to the very survival of your colonies and to powering your ships. Deuterium is one of three essential resources needed to charge warp engines.
The Kale has slightly higher Bussard Collector capacity than the Indus but this comes at the cost of 0 Flight Range and lower beam capacity. Credit alternatives to the Kale are the Hatysa and Dheneb.
Atria (Light Flagship)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 25 Crew: 200 (100) | Hull: 1200 Armor: 4 Shields: 500 | Cargo Bay: 16000 Beam Capacity: 50 3000 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 55 Flight Cost: 9.6 | EPS: 2400 Main Energy: 4800 Reactor: 666 Core Capacity: 27000 Deflector: 4000 Deflector/Tick: 180 | Disruptor: 8x 18|18 Phaser: 8x 8|8 -85% Photon Torpedo: 10x 10|10 Plasma Torpedo: 10x 24|24 Evasion: -85% | Solar panels Wreck extraction Bussard Collectors (+3) 1125 Bussard Collector Capacity Carrier Ore collectors 300 Ore collector capacity LRS Range 4 8 Docking Ports 1 Hangar Slots Trading Portal |
The Atria class is a buildable civilian flagship.
The atrias defensive capabilities are lacking when compared to the Elstar and the Iowa, however it is reasonably well armed for a civilian ship and alone could probably successfully defend itself from 5-10 slots of military ships. If it had its hangar capacity filled with 8 fighters then it could put up a bit more of a fight, however it is not a ship you would choose to take into combat.
Ambiguous Ships
Extraction Ship (Debris Scavenger)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 2 Crew: 25 (10) | Hull: 50 Armor: 0 Shields: 20 | Cargo Bay: 350 Beam Capacity: 10 | Flight Range: 55 Flight Cost: 1.2 | EPS: 205 Main Energy: 411 Reactor: 58 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 60 Deflector/Tick: 8 | None | Wreck extraction LRS Range 2 4 Docking Ports |
The Extraction Ship (previously called a Repair Ship) is a small ship with wreck extraction ability.
The extraction ship, like all ships equipped with a wreck extractor is able to repair wrecks, it has a relatively high chance of success, although lower than the Ortygia and Atria class ships it has more chance of successfully repairing a wreck than any ships with extraction items installed.
The main alternative to the extraction ship is the Ortygia which costs 300 Credits and has a larger EPS, main energy capacity and reactor yield for 0.5 slots less. It is also possible to use an Atria for Wreck Extraction or any ships equipped with items such as a Plasma Cutter.
As of May 9, 2020 there were 31 Extraction Ships on the EN1 Server.
Patrol Ship (Patrol Ship)
General | Integrity | Cargo | Flight | Energy | Weapons | Special |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Slots: 2 Crew: 20 (10) | Hull: 30 Armor: 0 Shields: 15 | Cargo Bay: 120 Beam Capacity: 20 10 Torpedo Capacity | Flight Range: 55 Flight Cost: 1.2 | EPS: 205 Main Energy: 411 Reactor: 58 Core Capacity: 2400 Deflector: 120 Deflector/Tick: 8 | Phaser: 2x 4|4 -85% Photon Torpedo: 2x 10|10 | Subspace Tracking LRS Range 5 |
The Patrol Ship is the mobile counterpart of the Subspace Listening Post. Its state-of-the-art sensors allow it to pursue warp signatures left by travelling ships, if they are not older than five days. The Patrol Ship has a reasonably good flight range and LRS range, though some cut backs had to be made on its weaponry in order to fit this much high tech into such a small hull.
As of 24 May 2020 there were 116 Patrol Ships on the EN1 Server.
