The Outpost is an upgrade to the Listening Post. It is designed to be built along borders to watch for incoming attacks. It offers a higher LRS range and much better defences than the listening post, however this comes at a higher construction cost, and a higher slot cost. Against any significant military ships the Outpost is not very effective at defending itself.
