The Depot is one of the first space stations a new settler will be able to build, only requiring orbital construction research costing 40 Isolinear Chips and with a relatively low build cost it can be built soon after starting the game.

While the Depot lacks significant defences or cargo space, it offers a large number of docking ports for a station its size making it ideal for setting up in deuterium nebulas for those who do not want to spend 10 slots on a storage base it allows the deuterium tankers to transport goods without energy costs to transports.

It can only be built by first building a Tug ship, and then converting it into a Depot.
