The Christmas ship auctions take place during the Christmas Period and are a unique opportunity for players to purchase rare NPC ships as well as a variety of other unique ships. The ships contain special NPC resources. All ships are auctioned off anonymously (Apart from the Ore and Deuterium Kings) for a variety of resources, rather than just Dilithium. Appropriately half of these ships are sold for credits. The ships also come with a NPC item.
NPC Resources
Every NPC Ship sold on the Talaxian Ship Auctions over the Christmas period is sold containing a special NPC resource depending on which NPC the ship belongs to, for example a Sovereign would come with one unit of Earl Grey. The NPC resources are:

Taspar Eggs - Taspar Eggs are a well known delicacy on all Cardassian planets, and have a high reputation for it's love/hate taste. However, presently Taspar Eggs have formed quite a market, separate from others, forming its own "stock market" of sorts.

Contraband - Smuggled goods stand as a collective term for a number of very rare often illegal

Blood Wine - Every good Klingon should have some

Ferenginar Bugs - The Ferengi only will only eat bugs native to there plannet Ferenginar.

Vinculum - The Vinculum is the most important part of a Borg ship and is highly prized as salvage.

Ketracel White - Needed by all Jem Hadar Soldiers

Earl Grey - A traditional earth drink and the life blood of the federation

Romulan Ale - A highly intoxicating alcoholic beverage, illegal in the Federation from at least the early 2280s to the late 2370s.
Ore and Deuterium King Events
Every Christmas there is one Ship sold on the Christmas Ship Auctions for Deuterium and another for Iridium Ore. These auctions are not anonymous and last for at least 35 ticks. In addition the winners of the Ore King and Deuterium King are entered into the Community page on each server.
