The Nausicaan class pirate cruiser is a light vessel capable of traveling long distances and launching quick raids. They are light cruisers, and are only effective in large numbers or when supported by larger, slower vessels. They have slowly become outdated because of the production of Elstars and Frigates that can take out a fleet of Nausicaans with ease. The vessels have the Phaser power to take out small amounts of defensive fighters, and the Disruptors to disable a civilian vessel quickly. Their Torpedoes are inefficient at orbital bombardment because of the lack of hull and shielding on the ship.
