Wiki Management

Under the point settings on the user menu (you must be logged in), you can change personal settings to your account and preferences that affect creating articles or posts. To apply changes to the settings, the button must be pressed at the bottom of the page setting save!

User Data

Under user data in the user data menu, the following entries are possible:

Your real name (not required) *.

Here you can optionally specify your real name.

Your "nickname" (for "signing")

The name here, appears regardless of your login name, see contributions that you are using signature shortcuts (see signature table below) with.

Simple signature (nickname without a link)

The hook is set here, seems to signature shortcuts using your nickname without your personal page.

Language

Here you can select the language prints the wiki interface. However, this affects the content!


Password

Change Password

To change your password for your wiki account, please enter the existing password for your the account in the old password field. The new password must be in the new password field and new password (again) be entered.

Permanent Login

Put a tick here if you want to log in each time you visit the wiki page.
Note: Because this function uses cookies, cookies must be turned on in your browser!

Skin

A skin affects the appearance of the whole wiki page. The STNE wiki, offer several so-called skins available for registered users:

  • Chicks
  • Kölnisch blue
  • MonoBook (default)
  • MySkin
  • Nostalgia
  • Simple
  • Classic

The skin is selected by default MonoBook (default). Get a preview of the design of the wiki page via the link (preview) behind the skin's name. If another better like skin as MonoBook (default), you can use permanently this by the radio button before the desired skin selects and confirms settings save button.

Pictures

These settings affect only the format of the images displayed in posts, no matter their actual resolution. User is not logged, appear the thumbnails and images in the default size in the wiki set.

Resize images on image pages on:

The full screen view of images will be scaled to X Y pixels.

Thumbnail-size:

The display size of thumbnails in posts (only width that height is determined by the aspect ratio).

Date format

Affect the display of the date format in the list of recent changes, selecting a date format. You can choose an entry from this list:

  • No. preference
  • 16: 12, January 15, 2001
  • 16: 12, 15 January 2001
  • 16: 12, 2001 January 15
  • 2001-01-15 16:12:34

Time Zone

Here you can set the correct time for your time zone.

Current time on the server

Here is the server's hardware clock time.

Local time

The local time of the server (site is Germany and Central Europe).

Difference

You wear a difference from time to time on the server. Is this difference 1: 00 in winter time and summer 2: 00.

Paste from the browser

You can also press the time difference determine the button Paste from the browser.

Note to time zones: the clocks of computers are usually set to UTC (coordinated universal time) and to display only the difference to the local time zone.

Text Box Size

Under text box size you can make settings affecting the appearance and behavior when creating or changing of articles.

Rows / columns

Here you are giving to how big the edit box displays should be. See also option text input box with full width.

Show links to edit individual paragraphs

Here you can select whether to display edit links for the individual paragraphs/sections.

Individual paragraphs by right clicking Edit (JavaScript)

This option and JavaScript is enabled, you can edit it directly with a right mouse click in a paragraph.

Pages by double clicking on edit (JavaScript)

This option and JavaScript is enabled, you can by double-click in a paragraph that directly edit.

Text input box with full width

Here you can choose whether to display the edit field in maximum displayable width. (Standard on MonoBook (default) skin.)

Show edit toolbar

Here you can specify whether to display the Edit tool bar above the edit box.

Show Preview on first edit

With this setting you can force a preview is displayed after the first edit only - also at the press the button Save items.

Show preview before edit box

This setting is enabled, the editing window appears the contribution - is disabled, so before edit box appears the contribution.

Watch new and changed pages

Here you can set whether pages that have been edited or created by you are automatically taken to the watch list.

Mark all changes as minor

Here you can determine whether any changes that you make a contribution, they appear as only little things were changed..

Use default external editor

Specifies whether editing of posts an editor to use is installed on your system.

Use default external diff

Specifies whether to display version differences for contributions to use UNIX program diff(1).

Last minute changes and display short article

Short article mark up

Here you can enter a value in bytes. This value determines how big is an short article and less than the specified size in a different color turns the links to items. This will show you which items need of any editing. A meaningful value is e.g. 280.

Number "Latest changes"

Here you can enter a number that limits the number of recent changes shown per page. (Default is 50)

No small changes in latest changes

Here you can specify whether changes that are marked as only little things were changed. appear.

Enhanced recent changes (not for all browsers)

Displays the page latest changes in a thread-like manner. (Requires JavaScript).

Search results

Results per page

The maximum number of matches per article to be displayed.

Rows per results

Except article name the first lines match when the number of the row is not greater than this number. Paragraphs, blank lines, and line breaks are counted as rows in this sense.

Characters per line

The maximum number of characters displayed as context in a row with goals.

Here you can select whether links
  • always stressed, always
  • never underlined are never
  • or whether the setting of the browser is preferred browser default.

References to blank topics highlight

Here you can set links to non-existing topics distinguishes color of links to existing topics.

Text as justified

Here you can set whether to format text as justified. Default is not justified.

Automatically number headings

Determines whether headings in contributions (in_der_Art_==Text==) automatically numbered. Default is no numbering.

View a table of contents items with more than 3 headings

Here you can set whether to display the table of contents in a post with more than 3 headings.

Disable page caching

This option puts at the top of each page the Browseranweisung to load pages from the cache but always the original page.
