Although an Aither can decimate a militarily weak society, it is completely ineffective against anyone with more than some limited corvettes. Although the 14 fighters the Aither class can carry can do decent damage, the Aither itself cannot hold out against anything more than a single Darinaya class vessel. The Aither's lack of disruptors allows it to be easily defeated since it has few torpedo tubes and is more difficult to supply compared to its output. The Aither can do planetary bombing runs, but it cannot stand against planetary defenses on its own. Its fighters can take out some vessels, but since not many fighters can be carried on the Aither, they are often easily taken out by either corvettes or Ju'Day class fighter groups.
