Cardassian Depots are a fairly new addition to The Cardassian Union's arsenal. Depots are rarely used on account of their being very little need for them.
Depots serve as the diplomatic stations for the Union, with very little weaponry, yet plenty of docking ports, it is the ideal civilian haven.
