The Borg Assembler is used to assimilate a planet. The crew on board is designated to construction rather than defense. The drones land on an uninhabited planet, they begin their work with construction of buildings. They use nanites that use tiny, built-in replicators to replicate different building materials or convert an existing substance to configure everything to a building.
