Research studies
Scientists conduct research studies, and store the resulting knowledge on Isolinear Chips (Iso-chips). These Iso-chips can be applied towards the completion of research developments which advance a civilization's technological achievements. This permits them to construct advanced facilities, ships, and components, and to perform technology-based activities.
Scientists conduct their research in a variety of colonial facilities:
Ground level developments
The STNE research tree lists all possible research developments organized according to their prerequisites. There are several "ground level" studies which provide beginning points for each branch of the research tree. All developments have their roots in one of these ground level studies:
- Advanced Antimatter Technologies
- Fleet Management
- Orbital Construction
- Plasma Converter Construction
- Sorium Mining
- Terraforming Technologies
- Warp Field Theory
