Ferengi traders are specific ships belonging to the Ferengi(NPC). They are located at every Federation Supply Station and allow you to access the Ferengi Trade Exchange and your personal Ferengi Account.

Contents

Taxes and Storage Fees

The Ferengi allow you to store and trade goods through your ferengi account, but unfortunatly it is not free of charge. When depositing goods into your ferengi account a 10% tax is deducted automatically and if more than 100 (200 for Feature Pack premium users) of any type of good (excluding credits) is in your account it will be taxed by a further 25% every day at the 12:00 tick.

Checking the Commercial Readiness of Ferengi Traders

If you are going to pay goods into your ferengi account, it is a good idea to check that the ferengi ship you are using is a trader. The easiest way to do this is to try to beam something from the trader, if the goods available to beam are the same goods in your account then it is a trader meaning you can then beam your desired goods over to the ferengi trader and they will be put in your Ferengi Account

FTE and Larne

Larne cannot be paid into your Ferengi Account. Any Larne beamed over to a ferengi trader becomes the property of Ferengi. Beaming misplaced Larne back is viewed as theft and will be punished by the Ferengi - possibly even leading to the shut down of the relevant trader.

Locations of Ferengi Traders

While most Ferengi Traders are located at federation supply stations, the Ferengi sometimes set up independent trading posts. The location of all Ferengi Traders can be found under "Communication" --> "Ferengi Trade Exchange" --> "Locations of the Ferengi". When using a ferengi trader based at a Federation supply station, it is recommended that you dock as this eliminates the energy cost when transporting goods to and from the trader.

Identifying Ferengi Traders

Ferengi Traders are identifiable by the prefix CTC in the ship name. Almost all ferengi traders use this, although occasionally standalone traders will just state that it is a trader in the ship name.

Warning: Not every Ferengi ship is a trader. Ferengi are normally a very possessive race, so if you beam goods to a ship which isn't a trader they'll be hard to get back. Attemting to beam goods from a ferengi ship which is not a trader can result in severe penalties against you. Try to solve situations such as these through roleplay.
