About the Roman Empire

SPQR
Rome is basically a two part alliance The Roman Empire itself and Legio Romae, a training alliance for potential new members designed to teach them skills in economics, colony planning, basic fleet development and tactics. While they are run independantly to some extent their affairs are closely affiliated.

The Roman Empire is one of the oldest Alliances in the galaxy. The Empire is centered around the great planet of Imperium Romanum - a spectacular demonstration of The Greatness of Rome. The capital city is filled with universities and centres of scientific excellence - dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and truth. Recent advancements in biotechnology and nanotechnology have brought Roman Scientists close to finding a lasting cure to the Vidiian Phage.

The Roman Empire Is dedicated to learning and advancing in military and industrial Technology and is brought together by smaller empires and mutual goals.

Admission to Rome as a full citizen is a rare gift indeed. In fact, there are many who wish to enjoy the fruits of Rome and the protection the Emperor. However, potential citizens must first prove their worth by first joining Legio Romae. Battles test the heart and strengthen one's courage and resolve - one's "dedication to the faith" - the dream that is Rome. For those brave souls willing to test themselves may you find success as a centurion of Rome.
Underwater City

Spectacular architecture has always been the hallmark of the great Roman under water Cities and there are marvels to be seen on many of the Roman planets including the Victory Arches on Praetoria, the Imperial Senate Building that was placed under water.

The Roman Empire thrives on commerce and military strength. The cultural strength and power of the Roman society is unmatched in the Galaxy. Science, arts, culture, music, medicine and education are cornerstones of The Roman Empire.

The Roman water planet of Praetoria has many fountains and water inspired statues that speak to the ever-flowing power of Rome.

Articles of Confederation

Section 1: Determination of Authority and Rank. All officers share equal authority, regardless of rank. At this time, all members who are not officers shall hold the rank of Centurion Romae.

Section 2: Inactivity If you are going to be busy, please let the Head or Assistant Head know ahead of time, as it takes a lot of the guesswork out of alliance planning. If you are inactive more than 35 ticks without explanation, you will be removed from the alliance, this will be strictly enforced, also if you let us know of an extended absence and you have not returned in 200 ticks your colonies and ships will be visited and all resources of value will be removed. If you have returned after this has occurred just let b349 Legatarius Legionis Romanae know and your resources will be returned as soon a possible. If you have an emergency situation, please notify an officer upon your return, and your case will be considered.

Section 3: Piracy Raiding is not prohibited, but it is not encouraged either. You may raid as much or little as you like, under the following guidelines.

  • NO destruction of civil ships will be permitted.
  • NO destruction of critical buildings (ie. farms, domes, power generation) will be permitted.
  • Try to keep military losses to a minimum. If a ship doesn't fire on you, don't shoot it. If a planet doesn't fire on you, don't destroy its defenses. BPP structures are considered valid targets.
  • Do NOT raid allies. EVER.

Anyone choosing to raid does so with the knowledge that they will not receive any assistance from the Alliance in the event that their actions result in armed conflict, UNLESS the attacking party violates the above rules without provocation.
