A Trade Agreement is a type of treaty that can be made between two settlers or alliances. To form a trade agreement the settlers must first have a peace treaty. Players with a trade agreement:
- Cannot fire upon each other, ships and colonies on red alert act as if they are on green, so completely passive.
- Beaming does not trigger any defensive reactions and goods secured using Beam Protection Points can be beamed away.
- The trade agreement by default includes a docking permit to the space stations of the settlers involved (this can be changed on the station if needed).
All members of an alliance automatically have a trade agreement with all other members. A trade agreement along with a military alliance is required to grant copilot rights on ships.
