Alliances are a key part of STNE, the vast majority of players decide to join an alliance, while it is possible to stay as an independent player, it generally takes longer to progress compared to when you have an alliance backing you providing you with advice and often resources. Currently on EN1 there are three main alliance blocks, one or two neutral trading alliances and NPC minions - there are pros and cons to each of these options which will be summarized on this page.

If you are level 6 or above it probably makes sense to check the Political Map of the Galaxy for which alliance block (if any) controls the area you are located, as it may make sense to join that block, otherwise you will probably have to relocate. If you're level 5 or below then you can choose an alliance to apply for and then when you level up to level 6 you are able to input coordinates of the area which your alliance is located to move to.

Alliance Blocks

Eastern Coalition

Guardians of Khitomer - Generally an all purpose alliance, contains a large number of newer players
Vulcan Science & Military Incorporated - Generally an all purpose alliance, not many offensive military players
Black Star Confederacy - Old reformed alliance which mainly focuses on piracy and military
Commonwealth of Humanist Ideals - All purpose alliance
Omega - Primarily a trading alliance but maintains an active military

Allied Alliances

The Brotherhood of NoD - All purpose alliance
StarFleet Command - All purpose alliance
House of Dragha - Blood Stalkers - Military Focused Alliance

The Dell

The Dell Syndicate - All purpose alliance with a focus on military and raiding
Galactic Republic - All purpose alliance

Neutral Alliances

Union Of Borderworlds - Neutral Trading Alliance
The Triumvirate

NPC Minions

NPC minions are a relatively new type of player who join the alliance of an NPC, these players are generally involved heavily in roleplaying their characters. There are some benefits to becomming an NPC minion however these benefits come with increased rules and restrictions. Minions cannot take direct actions against other players (outside an agreed RP) - this includes attacking, raiding, trolling, insulting and generally antagonizing other players on chat however attacks on these players are treated with the same attitude as attacks on the NPC themselves.

Minions are NOT given materials, or torpedoes, nor are they provided with Mega-fortress sectors. The NPC CAN place a small amount of defensive platforms at any player-made fortress, but only in small amounts.

For more information on NPCs to see the focus of each NPC see the NPC article
