The Vinculum is the most important part of a Borg ship and is highly prized as salvage.
The borg are formidable enemies. their powerful ships, though lacking in imagination, have a massive amour, shield and weapon capabilities. At the heart of these ships are vinculums. These controll the ship, the engines, weapons, shiels, and everything else; these are, of course, connected to the hive. There are no uses for vinculums other than collection or trade. A single vinculum came onboard each Borg ship in the christmas period auctions
