Slots are a game mechanic to limit the maximum number of ships and colonies players are able to build. There are three types of slots Ship Slots, Colony Slots and Gate Slots. Additional slots can be purchased using Credits to a maximum total of 200 ship slots, 12 colony slots and 20 gate slots. Lifetime feature pack users are granted an additional 10 ship slots on all servers.

Colony Slots

Upon arrival at level 8, without additional credit purchases, players are given a total of 6 colony slots. Four of these colony slots can be used to colonise planets, while the remaining two are for colonising asteroids.

Using credits, this can be expanded to a maximum of 12 colony slots, 1/3 of which must be asteroids. The costs for upgrading colony slots are listed below.

  • 7th Colony Slot: 1000 Credits
  • 8th Colony Slot: 1700 Credits
  • 9th Colony Slot: 2400 Credits
  • 10th Colony Slot: 3100 Credits
  • 11th Colony Slot: 3800 Credits
  • 12th Colony Slot: 4500 Credits

Total Cost: 16500 Credits

These costs are reduced by 25% each year in the Advent/Christmas event period between late November and mid January.

Ship Slots

The core number of ship slots all level 8 colonists have is 100. Each ship has a different number of slots normally in the range of 0.5 to 25 slots. The maximum number of ship slots a player can have is 210 - this consists of 100 core slots, 100 credit slots and 10 slots from Lifetime Premium. The costs to upgrade ship slots are listed below.

  • 110 Ship Slots: 1000 Credits
  • 120 Ship Slots: 1500 Credits
  • 130 Ship Slots: 2000 Credits
  • 140 Ship Slots: 2500 Credits
  • 150 Ship Slots: 3000 Credits
  • 160 Ship Slots: 3500 Credits
  • 170 Ship Slots: 4000 Credits
  • 180 Ship Slots: 4500 Credits
  • 190 Ship Slots: 5000 Credits
  • 200 Ship Slots: 5500 Credits

Total Cost: 32500 Credits

  • 210 Ship Slots (Lifetime Premium): 100000 Credits

Total Cost (with Lifetime Premium): 132500 Credits

These costs (other than Lifetime Premium) are reduced by 25% each year in the Advent/Christmas event period between late November and mid January.

Gate Slots

All colonists are given a total of 5 gate slots which can be expanded to 20 gate slots using Credits. Gate slots can only be used for building small gates, large gates and trade bases. If a colonist has more slots of gates and trade bases than their gate slots allow for, the additional slots will use ship slots.
