Planet class overview |
Class L or Lava Planets are sought after for two reasons; the ease of generating power using a Geothermal Power Plant on every Volcano, and the high Nitrium deposit. These planets are generally used to produce either Tritanium, or raw Nitrium. However, they are very expensive to terraform.
The maximum number of Volcanos on a lava planet (after terraforming) is seven (that is, you can only add one).
A good production for a fully terraformed Lava is 8 Tritanium per tick (if you use soldiers to opress your population, which damages your internal repuation), but this can be substantially increased if you import the Duranium to feed your Tritanium Factorys rather than producing it on the planet - a lava can make 20 Tritanium per tick without the repuation damage of soldiers if you import 40 Duranium per tick from trade or another planet.
