Class M or Standard Planets is the first planet a player starts with and players may have no more then one Class-M planets. They are well suited for Plasteel production though are moderately useful for other resources with the exception of Nitrium and Sorium.
The Standard Planet also has several unique properties. For instance only in orbit of a Standard Planet may players construct a Phaser Cannon and only one, a Core Gap may only be performed once and only one Dilithium Mine maybe constructed.
