A brief introduction to Torpedoes
Torpedoes are the most powerful and versitile weapon throughout Space Trek. Whereas phasers and distruptors are very powerful, they only effect ships in general. Torpedoes don't only damage ships in general like phasers and distruptors but they can attack shields specificly, the EPS specificly or even go through shields!
Types of Torpedoes
Torpedo-Type | Energy to Fire | max. Damage | Resources to Construct a Pair | Workers Required | Description | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Photon Torpedoes | 1 | 10 |
4 Energy |
4 Workers | Photon torpedoes are loaded with a portion of matter and anti-matter. The reaction of these two parts results in a huge explosion. Photon torpedoes need 1 energy for launch, and cause 10 damage. They are also used in terraforming. The Federation does not hand out this technology to colonists. | |
Plasma Torpedoes | 3 | 24 |

Plasma torpedoes are a special sort of torpedo which deal moderate damage. Although more advanced than the Photon torpedo it is a basic military torpedo. The Federation won't hand these weapons to colonists. | ||

Polaron torpedoes are modified Photon torpedoes which can pass a small distance in the subspace and thus avoid any kind of shield. |
Transporting Torpedoes
Colonies do not need anything special to hold torpedoes, but ships must have torpedo capacity. There are 3 ships specificly designated to transport torpedoes; Denison, Chordat and Boreas.
Name | Picture | Cargo bay | Torpedo capacity | Torpedo Tubes | Torpedo Types |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Denison | 550 | 400 | 1 | Photons | |
Chordat | 250 | 180 | 1 | Photons | |
Boreas | 700 | 700 | 2 | Photons |
