Talaxian Ship Auctions
Starting with level 8 you can obtain ships by put the winning bid in the auction for it, also you can auction out your own ships. Not all ships can be auctioned for example probes, colony ships and space stations, carriers or flagships cannot be sold through the talaxian auctions.
Once a auction is over the ownership of the ship is given from the seller to the winner of the auction, this includes the move of the slot usage and if the ship has a colored name activated on it this is also transferred.

Once you place a bid the goods are taken from your account, yet the daily tax of 15% still applies to them. If someone places a higher bid the goods are returned to your account. If you manage to sell a ship, the goods are transfaired to your account, the Ferengi takes a fee of 25%.
Christmas Auctions
Main Article Christmas Ship Auctions
During the Christmas Period on STNE which is between the end of November and the end of January a number of NPC ships are put up on the talaxian ship auctions which players can buy - rather than all being sold for dilithium - like normal talaxian ships, these ships are sold for a variety of resources - approximately half of the ships sold on the talaxian auctions during this period are sold for credits. During the Christmas period players cannot put ships up for auction.
