The shield must be charged before use. When at maximum strength the shield generated by the tower can withstand 3000 damage - 1000 [[Plasma]] is required to charge the shield to this level meaning each unit of plasma charges the shield by 3 units. The shield does not protect against Polaron Explosions. ==Shield Tower Function== In the following image each individual shield tower protects the green fields around it. The red fields are where the shield towers overlap, in this situation '''only ONE shield tower will protect them'''. If the shield protecting the red fields collapses, the second shield tower does not come into affect for those fields until after the next tick - leaving the fields unprotected for the remainder of the tick.
