After a few major breakthroughs in software development, he decided to forfeit all other research branches and Generic Constructions became the leading software and subroutine developer in the universe. One important aspect of Durnham's policy was and is to provide all company software for free to the general public. Only specially commissioned projects are to be charged for.

The Klingon Gur'll took over as Glest and aligned the company with the Klingon Empire. Later during the KE - CRL war several important GC research planets were bombed and valuable data was lost. After an independent inquiry, Gur'll had no choice but to step down as Glest. Popular demand persuaded Durnham to return to office.
