The Shamilar Class heavy battleship is very formidable. &lt;br /&gt;
Featuring often a cloaking device, and numberable weapon systems, this ship is a hard target.&lt;br /&gt;
The Romulan versions are recorded to have up to 7,000 Hull, 4,000 shields, and even a high tally of 40 Disruptors, 40 Phasers and 40 Torpedo tubes. Although supremely powerful, it cannot quite singually take on and destroy a cube, though it is still a very potent warship. The ship itself has more hull and shields then Borg Cubes in most cases, but its weapons just don't do enough damage, to successfuly penertrate a Cubes  armour, or indeed deal very significant damage per shot to the Borg hull. &lt;br /&gt;
However, despite its 'not so great' statistics when compared to a borg cube, it is still a massively powerful vessel, and a near match for the Scimitar. Just remember how strong a borg cube is, and how potent they are. This ship could nearly destroy on of those - Quite a accomplishment! &lt;br /&gt;

The settler version is rarely seen, but when it is, the ship is usually used for a capital support ship. Surpassing nearly as many weapons as the Iowa, it can do a lot of damage. Unfortunately, its much lower hull and shields mean it can't take that much. The settler version does not come with a Cloaking Device. It might be noted, the settler version has a powerful, long-ranged sensor net. Its LRS of 6 is put to good use when hunting for syndicate, vadwaurs, and just generally treking. &lt;br /&gt;

With high damaging weapon systems, Very high hull, high armour these ships are formidable. Even a task force of 3 iowas cannot stem the power of a Tactical cube. Albeit, these ships do have low shields. But neverless, the hull compenscates. &lt;br /&gt;

Suggested Statistics from previous expeditions against borg tactical cubes:&lt;br /&gt;
30-60x40 Disruptor&lt;br /&gt;
30-60x20 Phaser&lt;br /&gt;
7500-15000 Hull&lt;br /&gt;
500-1000 Shields&lt;br /&gt;
6-9 Armour&lt;br /&gt;

As you can see the low power variant has decreased weapons significantly, however it still has its high hull, shields and armour. although still a hard target, perhaps 2 or 3 Iowas could take this down.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Amaterasu, is also known as Amat on stne. Its a Carrier class ship, and also the most 'able' ship of its class. It can carry 28 fighters, more then any other settler starship. Not only this, but it has a large hull and high shields for protection, aswell as 8 Basic phasers and 8 torpedo tubes for planetary bombing or combat without fighter support. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
By some, its a &amp;quot;cheap iowa&amp;quot;, being less effective when compared on slots but not by much. &lt;br /&gt;
By some, its a awesome militaristic tactical capital ship, capable of striking fear to the enemies hearts.&lt;br /&gt;
By some, its just plain awesome, and people make armadas of these and arm them with over a hundred fighters, sometimes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Being relatively cheap, its building cost is very low compared to the Iowa. &lt;br /&gt;
In exchange, this ship is less effective in combat, when not equipped with fighters. Equipped with fighters, you have a much more capable, and in numbers, more capable ship then even the iowa. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Note:&lt;br /&gt;
A thing to consider, is that this ship, being relatively cheap to build, can be equipped with avatars for more effectivness. You can kind of build a cheap iowa, and change its price (and abilities) by using avatars. This saves slots too. But remember, the fighters will see no benefit unless you equip them, which is silly.&lt;br /&gt;

for the cost of a iowa (2750 Credits ATM), you could have: &lt;br /&gt;
1 amat &lt;br /&gt;

The Iowa is a menacing ship with supreme power, mainly defensively, over all known ships a settler can get, including from christmas NPC auctions.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Its main asset is its high shields and hull - Both higher then any other ships, and the shields actually twice as high as any other - a good accomplishment. However, it doesn't rule the skys without weakness - It has rather low EPS generation, a measly low 40 Flight range, heavy fuel costs, and the major disability set by the fact it cannot direct fire defencively. Thats to say, if 15 Adrecs attacked it, due to it having 15 disruptors, it would shoot each one once with 1 disruptor each, rather then use its disruptors to lower the enemies firepower, 1 Adrec at a time, which would decrease the damage the iowa itself would have taken the next Battle tick.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So, to overview it:&lt;br /&gt;
*Very good at combat when you are plan attacking with it.&lt;br /&gt;
*Massive shields and hull means it is really hard to destroy, and can withhold the firepower of several ships for several battle ticks.&lt;br /&gt;
*The ship itself can carry 6 fighters - Not much, but 6 extra Disruptors is a major add on to a ship like this, and could turn the tide in a fight.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But on the down side...&lt;br /&gt;
*Can die at hand of frigates without even taking 1 frigate down (Though damaging all of them, likely to having no shields)&lt;br /&gt;
*low Flight range means it has a hard time escaping battle and the patrol ship can track it easier the other ships.&lt;br /&gt;
*Its hugely expensive to build! Also, you might want to note that this makes the enemy want to kill it... Deal a crippling economic valued blow to your opponent by killing their Iowa.&lt;br /&gt;

The Elstar is a multi - tasker ship, in a different way to the Atria.&lt;br /&gt;
This ships task, is to fly fast, while also being able to significantly deal damage to its opponents it meets on the way.&lt;br /&gt;
naturally, it couldn't be fast, able to deal the same damage as the iowa, and have high hull/shields like the iowa, so they cut down the shields and hull.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is viewed as weak by some, and is, generally in combat. However, again, remember, its a multi-tasking ship, and not quite as bad as the Atria :) The ship is good for raiding, with its some 8,000 Cargo, and 1,200 Shields, although admittedly,a Amaterasu is probably your better choice if you want a raiding ship - half the cargo, but much more hull, for half the slots - at the downside it has half the Flight range. Over all its your choice, but bear in mind the Amaterasu is also able to carry some 28 Klaestrons to do super damage if needed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Elstar is a good ship just to 'fly around with', simply because of its high FR. That brings me on to another thing - its a hard ship to track, because it can go faster then even Patrol ships themselves, and therefore works well for a nomad-type player.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
it has some small additions like its bussard collectors (alike the Amaterasu's, not very good), station EPS charging, 6 Probe dock ports, and 2 normal docking ports.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In Overview:&lt;br /&gt;
*Not very good in war, unless you are a expert in hit and run tactics, and/or have 3 of these in a fleet- that'd be deadly.&lt;br /&gt;
*Otherwise a good multi-tasker, could work well as a raider, and fits into RP well. I wouldn't really build one, just because its not good enough in anything that I want a ship to be 'good enough' in - But, each to their own, its your choice.&lt;br /&gt;

The Iowa is a menacing ship with supreme power, mainly defensively, over all known ships a settler can get, including from christmas NPC auctions.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Its main asset is its high shields and hull - Both higher then any other ships, and the shields actually twice as high as any other - a good accomplishment. However, it doesn't rule the skys without weakness - It has rather low EPS generation, a measly low 40 Flight range, heavy fuel costs, and the major disability set by the fact it cannot direct fire defencively. Thats to say, if 15 Adrecs attacked it, due to it having 15 disruptors, it would shoot each one once with 1 disruptor each, rather then use its disruptors to lower the enemies firepower, 1 Adrec at a time, which would decrease the damage the iowa itself would have taken the next Battle tick.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So, to overview it:&lt;br /&gt;
*Very good at combat when you are plan attacking with it.&lt;br /&gt;
*Massive shields and hull means it is really hard to destroy, and can withhold the firepower of several ships for several battle ticks.&lt;br /&gt;
*The ship itself can carry 6 fighters - Not much, but 6 extra Disruptors is a major add on to a ship like this, and could turn the tide in a fight.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But on the down side...&lt;br /&gt;
*Can die at hand of frigates without even taking 1 frigate down (Though damaging all of them, likely to having no shields)&lt;br /&gt;
*low Flight range means it has a hard time escaping battle and the patrol ship can track it easier the other ships.&lt;br /&gt;
*Its hugely expensive to build! Also, you might want to note that this makes the enemy want to kill it... Deal a crippling economic valued blow to your opponent by killing their Iowa.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;Your Warp core fills your ship's energy up. &lt;br /&gt;
At the moment, there is no other way to energize a lone ship, other then using the Warp core.&lt;br /&gt;
Solar pannels give minor effects, but this will not supply iowas, Atrias, Elstars, Amaterasu's or other large ships - Only really scout ships can survive well with Solar pannels. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To fill your warp core by 50 units you must fill the warp core with&lt;br /&gt;
A) 2 Anti-Matter 2 Deuterium 1 Dilithium&lt;br /&gt;
B) 10 Plasma*&lt;br /&gt;
C) 100 Deuterium*&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Your ship will then use the warp core, once activated, to fuel itself, through the reactor. Repair energy, shield charging, and some other stuff like activating a system blockade, or hide mode, will go directly from Warp core, and not affect EPS generation.&lt;br /&gt;
NOTE: Activated shields DO affect EPS generation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ships can hold a lot of Warp core - The Amaterasu for example, may hold up to 30,000 Warp core units, and this is enough energy to see it on a long trip from one corner of the galaxy to another. Scout ships, like the Flaxian gold, can hold up to 7,000 Warp core in some places, where the flight cost is 0.4, and the Flight range 90. Where this is a exception, other ships like the Nova have similar statisics, with only 3,000 Warp core. Because of this, Scout ships can go very far for extended time periods, further then other ships like the warship types.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
One of the best way a ship can successfully travel infinitively without Warp core refill, is using bussard collectors - Ships like the Atria, can collect 9,000 Deuterium in one go(once a day), thats 4,500 Warp core, for 1,100 Energy - Your actually making 3,400 Warp core per day with that set up. &lt;br /&gt;
